Rally Whitsundays – “An Adventure in Paradise”
The Rally Whitsundays promoted by Whitsunday Sporting Car Club and Round 1 of the 2019 CAMS Queensland Rally Championship will be contested on Saturday 4 May 2019 on shire roads, private property and within the township of Bowen.
The stages are all new and traverse an interesting and testing combination of gravel roads around a coastal headland, through hinterland savannah, cane country and a bitumen stage within the town of Bowen.
Rally Whitsundays is the central focus of the Whitsundays Festival of Motoring and the Whitsunday Regional Council and the local business community are strong supporters of the Rally.

The Rally will have a Ceremonial Start at Abell Point Marina on Friday evening 3 May but the rally action gets underway from Abell Point Marina at 7.30am on Saturday 4 May 2019 and finishes in Bowen around 6.00pm. Competitive Special Stages are located in the Proserpine and Bowen areas and we have the Service Park (or Rally Pits) in the Proserpine Showgrounds.
The Rally is a golden opportunity for anyone to become an official and help out in one of a number of roles including being part of one of the 5 Special Stage time control and Start teams, Radio tracking officials and road closure officials on the routes of the stages and Safety officials to look after the public spectators at our two spectator points. All you need is a willingness to help, a vehicle to get to your post, sunscreen, hat, food and water and the desire to be out in the fresh air and see some of the best rally crews in the State battle it out over a testing course.
